US sanctions three ships that delivered fuel to Houthi-held ports after licence expired
The US Treasury sanctioned three vessels and their owners for discharging fuel at the Houthi-controlled Yemeni port of Ras Isa after a US general licence permitting such deliveries expired on 4 April. Treasury says the Tulip BZ delivered LPG and previously carried petrochemicals for Iran's Revolutionary Guards under the name Gas Line, while the Maisan, which delivered gas oil, has been exporting Russian oil since 2023. The third ship was White Whale. Treasury says the Houthis sell such fuel on the black market to finance attacks on shipping.
