South Korea sanctions four Russian vessels over oil transfers to North Korea
South Korea has imposed sanctions on four Russian vessels that it says supplied refined oil to North Korea through ship-to-ship transfers, Anadolu Agency reports. Eight North Koreans working for the country's Missile Administration were also listed, as were five entities, including the Missile Administration itself, Russia-based M Leasing and Georgia-based Euromarket, which Seoul accuses of selling Russian oil to North Korea. The listed ships will need special approval from South Korean port authorities to enter. Anadolu says the move followed the defence pact signed by Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin in Pyongyang. The Foreign Ministry cited illicit weapons and fuel trade in breach of UN resolutions.
