US sanctions 13 more Iran-linked tankers and firms in four countries

The US sanctioned 13 tankers and 22 companies it links to Iran's oil trade, The Maritime Executive reports. Among the vessels are Amak, Asterix, Casinova, Lydia II, Peterpaul and Yateeka; the companies include ship managers in India, traders in the UAE and Petronix Energy Trading of Hong Kong, which Washington accuses of buying hundreds of thousands of tonnes of Iranian oil. A State Department spokesperson said the action disrupts Iran's efforts to raise oil revenue to fund terrorism. It continued the administration's maximum pressure campaign.
