China's Shandong Port Group bars US-sanctioned tankers from its terminals

China's state-owned Shandong Port Group has told traders it will block vessels on the US Treasury's sanctions list from its ports, The Maritime Executive reports, citing a policy notice. The group handles over a third of China's oil imports and is a main entry point for Iranian crude; at least eight sanctioned large crude tankers docked at its terminals in December. The port group told traders the impact would be limited, since most Iranian oil arrives on non-sanctioned ships. Analysts quoted noted the ban does not address ship-to-ship transfers.
