Chinese heavy-lift ship Jian Yang Cheng He leaves Andfjorden, then turns back to shelter from the weather, Vesterålen Online reports

The Chinese heavy-lift ship Jian Yang Cheng He turned back towards Andøya on 30 October about 12 hours after leaving Andfjorden in northern Norway, Vesterålen Online reports. The ship had sailed south after almost three weeks in the fjord, having corrected deficiencies found in a Norwegian Maritime Authority inspection. A spokesperson for the Norwegian Armed Forces' Operational Headquarters confirmed it had been granted shelter because of the weather, with a gale warning issued for the coast. Norway is still holding the second Chinese ship, Ya Qing Hai Yang, which the outlet says lacks valid flag registration and certificates and is under US and European sanctions over supplying equipment to Russia's Arctic LNG 2 project.
