US seizes Veronica, sixth tanker taken in its Venezuelan oil campaign
The US Coast Guard boarded the sanctioned tanker Veronica in the Caribbean, the sixth such seizure in the effort to control Venezuela's oil trade and the fourth since Nicolás Maduro was removed, AP reports. Registration data show the ship was also known as Gallileo and owned and managed by a company in Russia; a tanker with the same registration number sailed as Pegas and was sanctioned by the US Treasury for moving Russian oil.
