US seizes sanctioned tanker Skipper off Venezuela

US forces seized the Guyana-flagged tanker Skipper, formerly Adisa, off Venezuela on 10 December under a seizure warrant, USNI News reports. A boarding team from the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations and the Coast Guard was flown in by Navy helicopter. The ship was carrying crude from Venezuela and Iran. Attorney General Pam Bondi said it had been sanctioned for years over an illicit oil network supporting foreign terrorist organisations. President Donald Trump announced the seizure and indicated more could follow.
