US targets front companies selling oil for Iran's armed forces after the 12-day war

The US Treasury sanctioned front companies and shipping facilitators it says sell crude oil to fund Iran's armed forces, which it argues have leaned more heavily on oil sales to rebuild after the 12-day war with Israel. Six vessels were also targeted; Treasury said the administration had by then sanctioned more than 170 ships carrying Iranian petroleum, raising costs and cutting Iran's revenue per barrel. Further measures were taken against the airline Mahan Air.
