UK sanctions ten more tankers it links to Russia's shadow fleet

The UK sanctioned ten tankers on 11 September, its third round of designations against individual vessels, bringing the number of shadow fleet ships it has sanctioned to 25. The Foreign Office says three of them, Nikolay Zuyev, NS Asia and Zaliv Aniva, have together carried more than $5 billion of Russian oil since the full-scale invasion. The ships are barred from UK ports and from the UK Ship Register. The government says Russia has spent over $8 billion building the fleet. Foreign Secretary David Lammy said Putin's war is funded by 'a dark and illicit economic system'.
