US blocks two tankers and their owners over Russian oil price cap breaches
The US Treasury on 12 October sanctioned UAE-based Lumber Marine SA and Türkiye-based Ice Pearl Navigation Corp, registered owners of the tankers SCF Primorye and Yasa Golden Bosphorus, and identified both ships as blocked property. Treasury says SCF Primorye carried Novy Port crude priced above $75 a barrel and Yasa Golden Bosphorus carried ESPO crude above $80, both after the price cap took effect and while using US-based service providers. The $60 cap was set by the G7, EU and Australia in December 2022. The Price Cap Coalition issued an advisory to the maritime oil industry on compliance the same day.
