Ships linked to North Korean munitions runs also serve Russia's Arctic, Barents Observer reports
Ships that NK Pro ties to suspected North Korean munitions shipments also trade to Russia's Arctic, The Barents Observer reports. According to NK Pro, Angara, Lady R and Maia-1 were repeatedly seen collecting containers of suspected munitions at Rason over three years. Maia-1 sailed along the Norwegian coast to Arkhangelsk in August 2025 and, after entering the Kara Sea on 29 September 2026, was heading west on the Northern Sea Route. Lady D has served Arkhangelsk and Murmansk. The newspaper says Maia-1 and Lady D belong to MG-Flot, which the US, EU and UK have sanctioned over ties to Russia's Defence Ministry and arms deliveries. It is unclear what Maia-1 carried or whether weapons have reached Arctic ports.
