UK sanctions individual shadow fleet tankers for the first time
The UK has for the first time sanctioned individual ships, listing three crude tankers and a product tanker it links to Russia's shadow fleet, The Maritime Executive reports. They are the Cook Islands-flagged Ocean AMZ and NS Laguna, managed from Dubai, the Cameroon-flagged Robon, managed from Kazakhstan, and the Gabon-flagged Canis Power. Two Russian-flagged cargo ships, Lady R and Angara, were also listed, along with tanker insurer Ingosstrakh and ship manager One Moon Marine Services, among 50 entities and individuals designated. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said the UK was "ramping up economic pressure". No specific reasons were given for selecting the individual tankers, the outlet notes.
