Operator says explosive device holed tanker Vilamoura that had called at Russian ports
TMS Tankers says preliminary findings show the tanker Vilamoura was damaged by an unidentified explosive device off Libya, Riviera Maritime Media reports. The blast flooded the engine room and cracked the side plating; the crew were unharmed and the ship reached Lakonikos Bay in Greece on 1 July. Ship-tracking data showed it had recently called at Ust-Luga and Novorossiysk, fitting a pattern of attacks on ships that visit Russian ports, and security advisers suggested a limpet mine. TMS denied any shadow fleet links and said it complies with all sanctions.
