Sweden to check insurance of all ships in its waters from July
Sweden will require insurance documents from vessels passing through its territorial waters and economic zone from 1 July 2025, even if they do not call at Swedish ports, The Maritime Executive reports. The coast guard and maritime administration will collect the information. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said problematic events in the Baltic were increasing and Sweden had to plan for the worst.
