Ukraine strikes tanker Qendil in the Mediterranean, its first attack outside the Black Sea
Ukrainian aerial drones struck the Oman-flagged tanker Qendil in the eastern Mediterranean off Crete, more than 2,000 kilometres from Ukraine, Euronews reports. An SBU source said the empty ship, sailing from India to Ust-Luga, could no longer be used, and called it a legitimate target used by Russia to evade sanctions. It was Ukraine's first attack on the shadow fleet outside the Black Sea. The tanker is not on the US sanctions list. President Vladimir Putin said there would be a response.
