Polish military turns away shadow fleet tanker manoeuvring near Poland-Sweden cable

A tanker recently added to the list of shadow fleet ships made suspicious manoeuvres near the power cable linking Poland and Sweden on 20 May, outside Polish territorial waters, the Polish government said. The navy identified the ship and sent patrol flights, after which it changed course and headed to a Russian port. Prime Minister Donald Tusk noted there had already been several serious incidents of damage to undersea infrastructure, and announced plans to buy drones and other equipment to monitor the Baltic.
