EU's 17th package adds 189 shadow fleet ships, taking its list to 342

The EU adopted its 17th sanctions package against Russia, adding 189 vessels to its list of ships banned from EU ports and services and bringing the total to 342, Ship & Bunker reports. The Council said the ships are part of Russia's shadow fleet and carry its oil using irregular, high-risk practices. Shipping companies in the UAE, Turkey and Hong Kong that trade Russian crude and products were also listed, along with oil producer Surgutneftegas.
