US and UK target Qods Force deputy and vessel Artura over Houthi funding
The US Treasury, acting in coordination with the UK, on 27 February designated Mohammad Reza Falahzadeh, deputy commander of Iran's IRGC-Qods Force, as well as Houthi member Ibrahim al-Nashiri and Hong Kong-based Cap Tees Shipping Co., Limited. It also identified Cap Tees' vessel Artura, which Treasury says transported Iranian commodities for the Houthi financial facilitator Sa'id al-Jamal. According to Treasury, the Artura conducted ship-to-ship transfers with the sanctioned tanker Mehle and used the alias Sanan II to conceal its identity. Treasury linked the network's revenue to Houthi attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
