US sanctions Dubai's Oceanlink Maritime and 13 tankers over Iranian military shipments
The US Treasury on 4 April designated UAE-based Oceanlink Maritime DMCC and identified 13 of its vessels as blocked property, accusing it of helping Sepehr Energy ship Iranian commodities for Iran's military. The tankers fly the flags of Comoros, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, Panama and the Cook Islands. Treasury says the Hecate took more than $100 million of Iranian commodities from the NITC-operated Dover in a ship-to-ship transfer on 25 March, and that on 27 March the Hawk transferred a similar cargo to the Saint Light, formerly Young Yong. Under Secretary Brian Nelson said the aim was to disrupt Iran's financing of proxy groups.
