Empty Iranian tankers move away from Kharg Island as Israel weighs response
Several large tankers have left the waters around Kharg Island, Iran's main crude export terminal, according to TankerTrackers.com data and satellite images cited by Offshore Technology. Images from late September showed several VLCCs moored near the terminal, but pictures taken in early October showed an almost empty sea. The National Iranian Tanker Company reportedly told empty VLCCs to leave. Loadings were continuing, the report says. It follows Iran's missile attack on Israel and reports that Israel may target Iran's oil infrastructure in retaliation.
