Ukraine says it struck sanctioned tanker Fina A in the Black Sea
Ukraine's General Staff said on 17 June that its forces had struck the tanker Fina A in the Black Sea overnight, according to the Kyiv Independent. Kyiv Post reported that the vessel was hit in waters between Anapa and Novorossiysk. Ukrainian officials described the 244-metre ship as being used to carry Russian oil in circumvention of sanctions; both outlets noted it is under EU, Swiss, UK, Canadian and Ukrainian sanctions. The General Staff said the target was hit and that the extent of the damage was being assessed. The strike was reported alongside attacks on bridges, command posts and drone control points in occupied areas and in Russia.
