Turkey will receive some Russian diesel under the US–Russia supply deal, energy minister says

Turkey will take part of the diesel Russia is supplying to world markets under its agreement with US President Donald Trump, Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar said on 18 October, according to Reuters. Speaking to broadcaster Kanal 7, Bayraktar called the deal important for Turkey's energy security and noted that Russia had restricted diesel exports in recent months. He did not give details of volumes or terms. Reuters notes that the US–Russia diesel arrangement has drawn strong criticism from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, European officials and some of Trump's fellow Republicans, including Senator Thom Tillis, who has said the deal may be illegal.
