Trump orders blockade of sanctioned tankers entering and leaving Venezuela
President Donald Trump announced on social media a blockade of all sanctioned oil tankers going to and from Venezuela, NPR reports via WFAE, saying the country was surrounded by a huge US naval force. The US had about 11 warships in the region, including an aircraft carrier. Venezuela's government said the move violated international law and that it would take the matter to the United Nations. Venezuela produces roughly a million barrels of oil a day.
