US Treasury targets 35 entities and vessels in Iran's shadow fleet

The US Treasury designated 35 entities and vessels it says form part of the network moving Iran's petroleum, describing the action as a response to Iran's 1 October attack on Israel and its nuclear escalation. Treasury says ship managers in China, India, Hong Kong, Pakistan, Ukraine, the UAE, Panama and the Cayman Islands run vessels under various flags to hide the Iranian origin of the oil. Tankers listed include Jaya, Phonix, Bertha, Olive, Yuri, Min Hang, Elva, Ceres I and Vanity. Acting Under Secretary Bradley Smith said Iran keeps channelling petroleum revenue towards its nuclear programme.
