French forces board sanctioned tanker Boracay off Saint-Nazaire
French military personnel boarded the tanker Boracay, anchored off Saint-Nazaire, after it sailed from Primorsk on 20 September, gCaptain reports. The ship is under UK and EU sanctions and had earlier been detained by Estonia for lacking valid flag papers. The Brest prosecutor opened an investigation after the crew failed to prove the ship's nationality and refused orders. President Emmanuel Macron said it was good that France was investigating and cited an estimate of 600 to 1,000 ships in Russia's shadow fleet. The Kremlin said it had no information.
