US sanctions Iranian exchange house, front companies and 19 vessels

The US imposed sanctions on Iran's Amin Exchange, also known as Ebrahimi and Associates Partnership Company, along with eight front companies in China, Hong Kong and the UAE, gCaptain reports. The companies named include Ningbo Jiarui Trading and Starshine Petrochemical Corporation. Washington also designated 19 vessels it says carried Iranian petroleum and petrochemicals, among them the Barbados-flagged LPG tanker Great Sail, the Palau-flagged Ocean Wave and the Panama-flagged Swift Falcon. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Iran's shadow banking system moves money "for terrorist purposes". According to gCaptain, the action is part of the administration's Economic Fury initiative.
