US Navy intercepts newly sanctioned vessel Sevan in Arabian Sea
US naval forces intercepted the vessel M/V Sevan in the Arabian Sea on Saturday as part of efforts to block Iranian energy exports, Bloomberg reported, citing US Central Command. According to Central Command, the ship had been sanctioned by the US Treasury the previous day and was part of a shadow fleet carrying Iranian energy cargoes. Central Command said the network had moved "billions of dollars worth of Iranian energy" to foreign markets, including oil and gas products such as propane and butane.
