UK targets 2Rivers network and 48 tankers in largest Russia sanctions package

The UK has announced nearly 300 new sanctions against Russia on the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion, describing it as its biggest package. The measures cover 175 companies in the 2Rivers network, which the government calls one of the largest shadow fleet operators in the world, and 48 tankers carrying Russian oil. Pipeline operator Transneft, LNG terminals at Portovaya and Vysotsk and nine banks were also targeted. Lloyd's List reports that the designations include LNG carriers CCH Gas and Kunpeng and the insurer Maritime Mutual Insurance Association (NZ). Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said Russia was four years into what Putin expected to be a three-day invasion.
