UK adds 40 shadow fleet tankers in its largest package since 2022
The UK announced 107 new sanctions on 24 February, the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion, in what it called its largest package since the early days of the war. They include 40 more shadow fleet ships, which the government says carried over $5 billion of Russian oil and oil products in the previous six months. That takes the number of oil tankers sanctioned by the UK to 133, which the government said is the highest of any European country. Other targets include suppliers of military components and North Korean officials.
