US sanctions network shipping Iranian petrochemicals to Asia, naming tanker Gas Allure

The US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control on 29 September sanctioned an international network it says moved hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of Iranian petrochemicals and petroleum products to buyers in South and East Asia. Those designated include UAE-based Virgo Marine, which Treasury says took millions of dollars from the already-sanctioned broker Triliance since early 2022 to arrange vessels for storing and carrying Iranian petrochemicals. According to Treasury, the LPG tanker Gas Allure carried tens of thousands of tonnes of Triliance-brokered cargo. UAE-based Clara Shipping was also designated, and the State Department sanctioned two Chinese entities, Zhonggu Storage and Transportation and WS Shipping.
