First Russian diesel cargo under Putin–Trump deal heads for New York aboard tanker Agioi Fanendes, Reuters reports
The Malta-flagged tanker Agioi Fanendes loaded 40,000 tonnes of Russian ultra-low sulphur diesel at the Baltic port of Primorsk on 22 October and is heading for New York, Reuters reports, citing LSEG shipping data. According to Reuters, it is the first Russian diesel bound for the US under the agreement between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, and is expected to arrive on 7 November. The agency says the final destinations of other Russian diesel cargoes loaded last week remain unclear, with most signalling Gibraltar, the Atlantic coast or Port Said. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on 23 October that the first tanker had set off for its buyers and that deliveries would continue at a steady pace, Interfax reports.
