US State Department sanctions Indian, Turkish and UAE firms over Iranian oil and petrochemical trade

The US State Department sanctioned 10 entities, six individuals and five vessels on 8 October over trade in Iranian petroleum and petrochemical products, The News reports. Those named include India's SSPL Solutions, which the department says imported about $2 million of Iranian petrochemicals between February and July 2025, and Türkiye's Noorzad Petrokimya, which it accuses of buying about $3.8 million of Iranian-origin petrochemicals in 2024. Samudra Marine Services, an Indian customs broker, is alleged to have facilitated such imports. Two UAE-based firms, Horizon Ship Management and Hessonite Ship Management, are accused of managing ships that carried Iranian oil. The paper says the action forms part of Washington's Operation Economic Outcast.
