Novak says freight and insurance obstacles to Russian diesel sales to the US are effectively resolved, TASS reports
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on 16 October that questions over freight, insurance and the supply of Russian diesel to the United States had effectively been settled, TASS reports. Speaking on the sidelines of Russian Energy Week, Novak said that, given how the US Treasury interprets the lifting of sanctions on diesel shipments, freight and insurance posed no obstacle, and that suppliers and buyers now needed to sign contracts with each other. Izvestia adds that Novak had said on 15 October that deliveries could begin in two to three weeks, and that exports have not yet started because the parties are still negotiating commercial terms.
