Houthi missile sets tanker carrying Russian naphtha on fire in Gulf of Aden

A Houthi anti-ship ballistic missile struck the Marshall Islands-flagged tanker Marlin Luanda about 60 nautical miles south-east of Aden on 26 January, setting one cargo tank on fire, gCaptain reports. The vessel, operated by UK-based Oceanix Services and chartered by Trafigura, was carrying Russian naphtha from Greece to Singapore. US Central Command confirmed the strike, and a Houthi spokesman claimed a direct hit. All crew were reported safe, with USS Carney and coalition ships providing assistance. Trafigura said firefighting equipment on board was being used to bring the blaze under control.
