US Navy SEALs seize Iranian missile parts bound for Houthis from dhow
US Navy SEALs operating from the USS Lewis B. Puller boarded a dhow in international waters of the Arabian Sea off Somalia on 11 January and seized Iranian-made ballistic and cruise missile components destined for the Houthis, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on 16 January. The haul included propulsion and guidance parts and warheads for medium-range ballistic missiles. The dhow was sunk and its 14 crew held while their disposition is determined. CENTCOM called it the first seizure of lethal Iranian aid for the Houthis since their attacks began in November 2023. Two SEALs who took part in the operation were reported lost at sea. Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla said Iran "continues shipment of advanced lethal aid to the Houthis".
