UK sanctions 12 more shadow fleet tankers and Russian oil producer Zarubezhneft

The UK announced 38 new Russia-related sanctions on 8 October, including 12 more tankers it links to the shadow fleet, which the government says takes the number it has sanctioned past 600. According to gCaptain, the ships are nine chemical or products tankers and three oil tankers that the UK says carried Russian oil or oil products to third countries; they include Dakar, Pioneer, Midvolga-3 and Alexander Nevskiy. The package also targets the oil producers Zarubezhneft and INK Capital, three crypto exchanges, two payment platforms and 17 suppliers of high-priority goods. The government says its sanctions now cover more than 90% of Russia's oil production capacity.
