Russia resumes diesel exports from Primorsk after deal with Trump, with first cargo bound for Morocco
Russia has restarted diesel export loadings at the Baltic port of Primorsk, The Moscow Times reports, citing Reuters and LSEG shipping data. An unnamed tanker loaded about 40,000 tonnes of ultra-low sulphur diesel on Tuesday and was heading for Morocco. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday 15 October that the diesel had begun reaching world markets, while Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said supplies would also go directly to the United States and that Russia aimed to restore exports of 3.5 million tonnes a month by the end of 2026. The resumption follows a supply deal announced by President Donald Trump and a US Treasury licence for Russian diesel running until 7 April 2027.
