Panama moves to strike off seven ships the US sanctioned over Iranian trade
The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) said on 22 October it had begun cancelling the registrations of seven Panama-flagged ships sanctioned by the US Treasury, along with a Panamanian company and its partners, and was taking measures against that company. According to Infobae, the vessels are Anemos, Gloris, Pride, Destiny, Flamingo 1, Harmony and Prince, all managed by Roxette Maritime Shipping and Trading, which Washington designated on 21 October. The AMP is acting under Executive Decree 512 of 2024 and says it has tightened pre-registration checks, requiring due diligence on every applicant vessel and its owners, operators and charterers. It restated a zero-tolerance policy on misuse of its registry.
