Iran has shipped some LPG and jet fuel despite the US blockade, Reuters reports
Iran has exported some liquefied petroleum gas and jet fuel since July despite the US naval blockade, Reuters reports, citing shipping intelligence and four maritime security sources. An analysis by United Against Nuclear Iran found that at least eight gas tankers carrying Iranian LPG, about 4.1 million barrels in all, have left the Gulf of Oman since mid-July, while SynMax imagery showed a tanker with Iranian jet fuel reaching Myanmar in September. According to the report, six of the eight gas carriers and the jet fuel tanker are under US sanctions. A US military official said a ship passing through did not necessarily mean it had evaded the blockade, and a Treasury spokesperson questioned the shipping data.
